The W.K. Kellogg Foundation has awarded the Policy, Research, and Evaluation (PRE) Team at NYU Metro Center a grant of $500,000 to form a Racial Equity Peer Learning and Inquiry Community consisting of four organizations that develop parent leadership and organizing, according to the website of the Steinhardt School of Education.
The organizations include:
- Parents for Public Schools
- Parent Leadership Training Institute of Greater Rochester, NY (part of the National Parent Leadership Institute)
- Organizers in the Land of Enchantment
- Washington State Association of Head Start & ECEAP Parent Ambassadors
Their team will support each of these organizations to develop racial equity indicators and to self-evaluate their progress on these indicators, the website says. The project will also be supported by the Parent Organizing Technical Assistance Project. This work represents an ongoing partnership that began with the Parent Leadership Indicators Project. The project will last for two years.
